Moving.

Hey guys!!! Sorry I haven't updated. But here is the plan, and if I do say myself, it is a pretty good one:

I am deleting this blog. Ok, stop freaking out. It's only being moved to another account and different page. I don't like this particular account, so that's why it's being moved. It will still be there, possibly under the same address if I can get it, maybe slightly different, but I will be sure to post it here. This little blog will still be here for the next two or three months, but I'll be updating on the other. As soon as the other is up and running, you guys will be the first to know!!!

Is your server down? Yeah, mine was too.

Why this title one may ask? I'll tell you. For the past, what, 2 or 3 months, I have tried and tried again and again to update this little blog. Unfortunately, my computer is being a butt. It won't let me on to Blogger! Or Pandora, Gmail, an Elf name generator (don't ask, please) and other such random sites. Finally, our network was fixed. It still didn't work. But then, we got a new family computer. Guess this is where I update now!

As for what has happened in between my last update and this one, let me touch up. The Saints won the Superbowl, which I couldn't be more happy about. My sister is a law student at Tulane in New Orleans, she said they got out of school. Speaking of her, she started a blog, which you can check out (An Escapist's Guide to the Movies). The short-course season ended in swimming, which you all probably care nothing about. And, my personal favorite: THE OSCARS!

So as for who won what, I won't post everything. Just the movies I want to talk about (These are not listed in order):
  • Best Picture - The Hurt Locker
  • Best Director - Kathryn Bigelow (For the Hurt Locker)
  • Sound Mixing - Hurt Locker
  • Sound Editing - The Hurt Locker
  • Actress in a Leading Role - Sandra Bullock (For the Blind Side)
  • Art Direction - Avatar
  • Cinematography - Avatar
  • Visual Effects - Avatar
I haven't seen the Hurt Locker, so I won't say anything negative, but I will say that I was hoping for Avatar to get at least best picture. However, it got 3 Oscars, so I was happy. I will admit, I wasn't expecting Sandra Bullock to get best actress. I thought it would go to Meryll Streep. I never thought I would see the day when Sandra Bullock got an Oscar but here it is.

So tell me your let downs, expectations, and hits, cause I'm interested!

P.S. I know that last line sounded corny. I couldn't help it.

Powdery White Stuff

Hi Everybody! Well, it is Friday, yes I realize that. Should I be in school? Well, everyone give a hand out there to something I call precipitation. You see, here in Knoxville, TN, if it snows more than a 1/2 inch, people freak out, they put salt on the roads (even if they aren't icy), and they cancel every school within a 100 mile radius. Ok, only 50 miles. Fine! Only EVERY school in the area. Of course, my school is always the last to cancel, but I still got out, so I'm not complaining.

So on the topic of winter, lets bring up all of those fun things to do! Well, you can always ski, that is, until you fall and your knees pop out of socket. Kidding. In fact, I enjoy skiing. But I wouldn't try snowboarding. Now that would kill me. But back on topic, there is always sledding, if you have a big enough hill.

But my favorite winter activity, is watching puppies in the snow! So check out this video, but you have to give it a moment to load. Then you can tell me about your favorite Puppy in the Snow!!!
So enjoy!

You say tomato, I say tamato

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. Exams are coming up and I've had a crap load of homework. Besides, nothing has caught my eye.

There are several movies out right now, some of which include The Blind Side, Fantastic Mr. Fox, A Christmas Carol, and the ever favorite there-hasn't-been-one-since-forever-and-a-half-ago G rated movie, The Princess and the Frog. Yes, I'm aware that most of these have been out for a LONG time. I'm just getting to them. (With my sister out of town, my movie watching goes way down.)

There is this website, called rotten tomatoes, that reviews movies and gives them percents based on critics and viewers thoughts. For example, Old Dogs made 5% on rotten tomatoes, earning it a rotten tomato. It was awful according to the critics. Fantastic Mr. Fox on the other hand, made 92%, making it a fresh pick and worth seeing. Anything below 50% is not recommended. Anything above 60% is a fresh tomato. Most people who use this site agree with it, but sometimes rotten tomatoes are good, depending on personal preferance. Definitely do not see anything below 20% though.

So, what I'm saying is, if you want to see a movie and rotten tomatoes gives it a good review, it is definitely worth it. Check it out: www.rottentomatoes.com.

Use it and tell me what you think!!

Tired and Trashed

November 20, 2009. Anyone know what's significant? You guessed it. New Moon just came out! And I was one of the mentally incompetent people who went and saw it at midnight on Thursday!

My overall review is this: IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN TWILIGHT!!!! The new director really cleaned things up. Kristin Stewart looked less like a druggie (even though she kinda still looked like one) and he cleaned up the acting, and, this has nothing to do with the director but, Taylor Lautner was shirtless like half the movie! Hello eight-pack. But what really made me mad was, Edward, who is supposed to be "perfectly sculpted" had fake muscles. He had them painted on. And over here is Jacob who gained almost 30lbs of muscle for this movie. Another thing that made me mad, at the premiere, here in Knoxville, Tenn... (where I'm from) Kristin Stewart looked gorgeous. The one place she can look like trash, she doesn't.

Seeing the movie at midnight was without a doubt worth feeling trashed the next day. An hour-and-a-half of sleep? That's a nap. Not sleep. Nap. Distinguished the difference? Not enough to function for a full day. I had a meltdown at the end of the day, I'll admit, but seeing the movie was well worth it. For those wondering, I'm on TEAM JACOB and proud of it. So tell me what you think. I'll be waiting!!

Baa.... Oh! Excuse Me!

Well faithful readers, I try to give my latest posts at least a day or two to sink in, but this couldn't wait. Someone emailed this to a member of my family. I found it very amusing, and yet. I couldn't wait to share it with you. You should recognize the tune from a slightly older song. I hope you like it!!

Hopefully you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Comment!!
